If the full rolodex of human emotions were up for sale tomorrow morning, people would line-up around the block to buy happy. Why? It’s what we’re supposed to be. Our culture leans so heavy on happiness to carry the human heart that when the natural tide of sadness rolls in, we run out the door. But what we leave behind in only feeling one side of the story, one shade of the sun, is a truer experience of life. Our little cloud, on the other hand, wants the whole ticket. It’s content being sad, even happy to feel sadness. Maybe by letting ourselves feel sadness, we’d ultimately be happier.
